Medicines: safety

No medicine is completely risk free. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) tries to ensure any medicine approved for treating people in the UK is as safe as possible.

You can help the MHRA monitor the safety of medicines by reporting any suspected side effects to the Yellow Card Scheme.

Skin creams

Skin creams are sometimes known as emollients. They help to manage a variety of dry skin conditions, and can easily transfer from your skin onto clothing, bedding and bandages. 

It’s important for anyone using these creams to avoid any naked flame. Tests show that the cream makes the fabric highly flammable. For further information, see the government’s guidance:
